Taskmaster was back on Channel 4 on Thursday evening (June 23) and the episode had a twist. All of the top dogs from series one to five went up against each other including Ed Gamble, Lou Sanders, Richard Herring and Kerry Godliman.
This special featured the contestants pulling out all of the stops to become the Champion of Champions, including destroying bath toys, dodging flying bananas, and painting on skates. Despite the program being an epic clash of comedians, it was Liza Tarbuck that stole the show amongst viewers.
The 57-year-old took part in the series of bizarre challenges, presented by Greg Davies, whilst wearing a beard. Although Richard Herring won the show, it was Liza who had Taskmaster fans in hysterics.
Taking to Twitter, one viewer said: “I am really enjoying Liza Tarbuck #TaskMaster doing with a beard, it is epic”. A second wrote: “I don’t think I could have predicted the thing I needed to see this evening would be Liza Tarbuck with a beard. #Taskmaster”.
“Beard or no beard, Liza Tarbuck is one of my favourite #Taskmaster contestants”, said one impressed fan before adding: “It really does, I’m quite taken with it. I want her to be in another series, not just a one-off :)”.
“I’ve never seen a woman rock a beard the way Liza Tarbuck is rocking it! #Taskmaster #ChampionOfChampions”, gushed one person, “Dying at Liza Tarbuck with a beard #Taskmaster #ChampionOfChampions”, added another.
Taskmaster producers have also announced the cast for series 14, with Dara Ó Briain, Fern Brady, Munya Chawawa, John Kearns and Sarah Millican rounding off the cast with Greg Davies and Little Alex Horne returning to present.
Taskmaster airs on Channel 4. Series 14 has been confirmed.
