Chronically ailing teenagers dance the night time away in Providence ballroom

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Dressed to the nines, practically 50 Rhode Island youngsters residing with persistent sicknesses left their hospital rooms behind for an evening to recollect.

The Adolescent Leadership Council (TALC) hosted a promenade on the Hotel Providence Friday night time for the kids, who ranged in age from 13 to 18.

TALC Program Director Erin Scott tells 12 News the kids have been recognized with a wide range of persistent medical circumstances, together with diabetes, Chron’s illness, sickle cell anemia, cystic fibrosis and most cancers.

The star-studded occasion was made potential by a grant from the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation. The organizers hope it’ll grow to be a yearly custom.
