Ephrata Cloister is among the oldest historic websites in Lancaster County.
In 1732, Conrad Beissel made the positioning subsequent to Cocalico Creek his house to arrange for the rapture. On the sting of the frontier, a rising neighborhood prayed, sang, worshipped and labored: creating non secular texts by hand and by itself printing press.
The web site grew to become the state’s first historic property three centuries later. The Cloister has amassed greater than 3,000 artifacts to inform the story of the communities who made this place their house.
