It’s back! Chick-fil-A in Aiken reopens | Local News

The wait is finally over.

Chick-fil-A in Aiken reopened Tuesday after being closed for over three months for a remodel.

The announcement came in February that the store would be closing to allow a remodel on the kitchen and drive-thru areas.

Cristina Andrade, who was picking up food, said she was excited when she saw the reopening.

“(It) makes me extremely happy,” Andrade said. “I don’t have to travel to the other side of Aiken to be able to get my family a good meal.”

For Terri Dickson, she came with her granddaughter to the restaurant after finding out it had reopened.

“We are delighted,” Dickson said. “(My granddaughter) has been anxiously awaiting their reopening. So yeah, this is a happy day. She was at vacation Bible school and heard at church, so yes, we were definitely coming. We’re very happy. We love this place.”

Operator Tom Johnson previously told the Aiken Standard that the drive-thru would be expanded into two lanes and canopies added.

There were also plans to add expand and modernize the kitchen.

The inside was expected to have a few tweaks due to some seating being lost because of the kitchen expansion, but nothing major was being done.

This isn’t the first remodel the Chick-fil-A in Aiken has undergone.

Johnson said that about five years ago the store closed for 10 to 12 weeks while work was done to update the dining area.

Johnson previously said the remodel is needed to help keep up with the demand from customers.

The Chick-fil-A in Aiken is located at 202 Eastgate Drive.
