Man arrested but released amid ongoing probe into ‘sexual assault’ at Glasgow park

A man was arrested but has been released amid a probe into an alleged ‘sexual assault’ in a Glasgow park.

Officers were called to reports that a 23-year-old woman had been attacked in Queen’s Park in Glasgow at around 1am on Saturday March 26.

Forensic officers were pictured combing an area of the park on Saturday evening.

Cops in white boiler suits were also understood to be carrying out inquiries at a cordoned-off area of the park.

Police have now confirmed that a 28-year-old man was arrested but has been released pending further inquiries.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1am on Saturday, 26 March, officers received a report of the sexual assault of a 23-year-old woman in Queen’s Park, Glasgow.

“A 28-year-old man was arrested and later released pending further enquiries.”
