Man charged with attempted murder after daylight attack on Scots high street

Police have arrested and charged a man with attempted murder following an attack on a man on a busy high street in broad daylight last week.

A 28-year-old man was found “seriously injured” on Leslie High Street, near Glenrothes, in Fife on Wednesday morning, (February 16) at 10.50am.

Emergency services attended and the male was rushed to Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy.

A man was previously arrested in connection with the incident but was subsequently released.

Cops have now confirmed that a 27-year-old was been arrested and charged in connection with the attempted murder.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police Scotland can confirm that a 27-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the attempted murder of a man near Glenrothes.

“Officers attended High Street, Leslie around 10.50am on Wednesday, 16 February, 2022 after a 28-year-old man was found seriously injured.

“Emergency services attended and he was taken to Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy for treatment.

“The man is due to appear at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Tuesday, 22 February, 2022.”
