Man dies in Scots home fireplace tragedy as cops probe inferno



A person has tragically died in a home fireplace in Aberdeenshire, police have confirmed.

The alarm was raised of stories of a fireplace at round 12.55pm on Friday at a property on Townhead Avenue in Inverurie.

Emergency companies raced to the property however sadly a person died on the scene, Aberdeen Live stories.

Police have mentioned that enquiries are ongoing into the incident however the fireplace is “not believed to be suspicious”.

A Police Scotland spokesperson mentioned: “Around 12.55pm on Friday, May 27, 2022, police received a report of a fire in Townhead Avenue, Inverurie.

“Emergency companies attended and a person died on the scene.

“His next of kin has been informed.

“Enquiries are ongoing however the fireplace will not be believed to be suspicious.”
