NCPD to host gun violence symposium Saturday morning 

The North Charleston Police Department’s (NCPD) RECAP (Rebuilding Every Community Around Peace) program will host a “Stop Gun Violence” symposium Saturday morning in partnership with Soul Harvesters Outreach Ministry.

The symposium goals to deliver collectively communities, organizations and leaders to associate with regulation enforcement on a collaborative effort to guard folks’s lives from the rising risk of gun violence. The occasion follows a busy month for gun violence, with a number of shootings making headlines since a pair of mass shootings over Easter weekend rocked the state. 

“We must change the culture and the narrative of apologies, sorrowful tear-filled speeches, candlelight vigils and funerals for individuals lost to gun violence in our communities,” NCPD stated in a press launch.
