A one-vehicle crash through which a automotive is believed to have rolled over as many as 10 instances has brought about extreme delays on the M8.
Emergency companies rushed to the scene of the incident on the motorway in direction of Livingston at round 1.10pm on Sunday, May 22.
One witness reported seeing the automotive skid onto the central reservation of the M8 and roll over 10 instances whereas travelling on the bus.
Another stated they noticed a number of police vehicles, incident response autos, three ambulances and three hearth home equipment on the location.
Scottish Borders Police shared on social media at 1.22pm that the a part of the motorway was closed to site visitors in each instructions.
Following the collision, they tweeted: “M8 is currently closed at Junction 2 and Junction 3, east and westbound due to a crash.
“Motorists are requested to hunt alternate options routes.” It’s understood that the road closure has caused significant tailbacks and delays.
It is not yet known whether there have been any injuries as a result of the crash.
A Police Scotland spokesperson stated: “Officers are currently in attendance at M8 at Junction 2 and Junction 3 after a crash involving one vehicle.
“East and westbound carriageways are currently closed.”
“We acquired a name at 1.10pm however there aren’t any additional particulars right now.”
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) have been contacted for comment.
