RI lawmakers to vote on leisure hashish legalization

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — The Rhode Island General Assembly is shifting in the direction of legalizing leisure hashish, probably by the tip of the month.

Committees in each the R.I. House and Senate have scheduled votes for subsequent Wednesday on the laws, which might legalize, tax and regulate the leisure use of marijuana.

The scheduled votes come after months of behind-the-scenes negotiations over the main points of the laws, together with how the trade will probably be overseen and whether or not previous marijuana convictions would robotically be expunged.

An amended model of the invoice has not but been made public, however is predicted to be launched early subsequent week previous to the votes.
