‘We’ve achieved the heavy lifting,’ says Cassava Technologies’ Hardy Pemhiwa

For Liquid Intelligent Technologies (#167), the pandemic has produced one more instance of Africa leapfrogging. “We saw a five-times increase in data throughput,” says Hardy Pemhiwa, the chief government of Liquid’s holding firm, Cassava Technologies, recalling the massive calls for abruptly positioned on its huge fibre-optic community on the continent in 2020. Many firms have been compelled to digitalise to outlive.

Cassava Technologies was created to accommodate the brand new ambitions of Strive Masiyiwa, the Zimbabwean founding father of Econet Wireless and elder statesman of African tech. Masiyiwa now needs to “create a digitally connected future that leaves no African behind”, Pemhiwa says. Cassava separates Econet Wireless from the digital infrastructure and digital companies enterprise – basically the fibre community, cloud companies and information centres.
