A woman is fighting for her life in hospital after being hit by a van in North London. Emergency services rushed to the scene on Sterling Way, Edmonton (N18) during rush-hour this morning (February 23), following reports that two pedestrians had been injured after colliding with a van.
Police, as well as paramedics from London Ambulance Service, and an air ambulance, were called to the scene of the crash on the dual carriageway, which runs past North Middlesex University Hospital. The woman remains in critical condition, while another man was also taken to hospital.
It is not known if there have been any arrests at this stage in relation to the crash. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson confirmed: “Officers were called at 9.16am on Wednesday, February 23 to Sterling Way, N18. A van was reported to have been in collision with two pedestrians.
“London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance attended the scene. The two pedestrians, a man and a woman, have been taken to hospital, the woman is in a serious condition.”
